Asheville is an abundance of colors in the Fall. The rich shades of the leaves changing colors, the golden sunlit hills and mountains, the red and green apples and bright orange pumpkins, Fall is illustrated beautifully in Asheville. Here are 5 ideas for family friendly fun at this time of year.

1. Hiking, Picnicing and Sight Seeing in the many State Parks, Forests and Mountains.

Blue Ridge Parkway,  Chimney Rock State Park,  Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Mount Mitchell State Park, DuPont State Forest

Asheville is a great place to enjoy the scenic state and national parks. Head to the Blue Ridge Parkway for incredible views of the Great Smoky Mountains. Pack a picnic and take in the breathtaking scenery.

2. Pick Your Own!

U-Pick Farms and Orchards,  Orchard at Altapass

Kids will love exploring the plenty of local farms and picking their own fruits and vegetables.  Late summer/fall is perfect for picking blueberries, blackberries, peaches, raspberries, tomatoes and corn. Go on a hayride, nature walk or play in a pumpkin patch.
